We wanted to help you get to know more about some of our amazing staff here at Huntington Village Animal Hospital this week! We also always welcome anyone interested to come in and meet us!
Dr. Denise Zeichner-Tamayo is the proud owner of Huntington Village Animal Hospital. An avid Huntingtonian, Dr. Zeichner-Tamayo is thrilled to be practicing in this amazing community! She grew up in New York City, and knew from the age of eight that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She volunteered at a small animal practice in the city, spending each free minute after school and on weekends at the practice. She also spent her summers working with horses in Germany, riding at a dressage barn and working with equine veterinarians in the area. She is also fluent in German!
Dr. Zeichner-Tamayo attended Cornell University for both undergraduate studies as well as veterinary school (it was a very cold and snowy 8 years!!). She then moved to Long Island with her husband, who is native to Long Island. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview. She was asked to remain there after her internship as a Staff Emergency Clinician, where she remained for 4 years. She then decided to branch into general practice, following her dreams of owning her own practice. And now she is here, living her dreams as the owner of the brand-new Huntington Village Animal Hospital, with her amazing staff!
Caroline Caputo’s bright smile will greet you at the front desk, as the office manager of Huntington Village Animal Hospital! Caroline is also a native Huntingtonian, and lives in Lloyd Harbor with her husband and daughter. She is an avid animal lover, owning horses and dogs ranging from bulldogs to mastiffs! Ask her about all of her amazing furry family members the next time you see her!
Caitlin Fanning will probably run out to snuggle your furry friend before you can even give your name to the front desk! Cait is a receptionist and veterinary techinican, and is pretty much a woman of all trades! Cait has always loved animals, riding horses since a young age, and spending time with her dogs when she is not at the barn! She is planning on attending veterinary school, and we cannot wait to have her join the practice as an associate one day!
Fun facts about us:
Did you know that Dr. Zeichner-Tamayo does not know how to ride a bicycle? Growing up in the city may have taught many a life lesson but apparently not that one!!
Did you also know that Caroline’s favorite music is rap music? It may be embarrassing to her daughter but Caroline knows all the lyrics and can be heard singing them in her car, especially on these windows-down beautiful days!!
And lastly, did you know that Cait talks in her sleep? We are waiting for her to take a nap at lunch one day so we can record her and use it as blackmail!!
